BCSAR membership applications are accepted year-round from individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age and a resident of Northwest Arkansas. Each applicant, if accepted, serves as an apprentice member for a probationary period during which time they will be expected to complete apprentice training, REGARDLESS of previous experience or training. All BCSAR members are expected to make a serious commitment to helping those in need in the most professional and proficient manner possible. This commitment to a volunteer organization entails a great amount of time, personal responsibility, training, and some personal expense.

There’s a lack of that satisfaction that you’re looking for as you search, you’re hoping for so intensely all this time. There’s a sense of disappointment that you haven’t succeeded yet, and the awareness that the survivors of these people — their family and friends and neighbors — that they’re left hanging, and we hate to see that happen.”
